Whitlock Bassett 
Whitlock was born in 1857. Whitlock's father was Jeremiah O. BASSETT and his mother was Martha Emily Young. His paternal grandparents were Nymphas Bassett and Thankful Bruce; his maternal grandparents were James S. Young and Elizabeth Kinsley. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Ephraim, Oliver J., Mortimer, John, Charles E, Louisiana and Mary Catherine. He was the youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 17 in 1874.-
