Sylvester Bassett

Sylvester was born on March 24th, 1814 in Oh. Sylvester's father was Nymphas Bassett and his mother was Thankful Bruce. His paternal grandparents were Rufus Bassett and Jedidah Handy. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Bernard Handy, Jonah Bruce, Samuel, Jeremiah O., Nymphus, Oliver Clemens, Rufus, Olive and Hannah. He was the third oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 87 on February 23rd, 1902 in Shelby,IN.

‌Sylvester and Susannah A. were married in a religious ceremony on December 22nd, 1836 in Shelby,IN. They had four sons and two daughters, named James M., William, Albert, Sylvester, Eliza and Nancy.
