Samuel Bassett

Samuel was born in 1815 in Highland,OH.  Samuel's father was Nymphas Bassett and his mother was Thankful Bruce.  His paternal grandparents were Rufus Bassett and Jedidah Handy. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Bernard Handy, Jonah Bruce, Sylvester, Jeremiah O., Nymphus, Oliver Clemens, Rufus, Olive and Hannah.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 49 on July 20th, 1864.

‌Samuel and Jane were married in a religious ceremony on September 10th, 1836 in Shelby,IN.  They had a son named Jeramiah.
