Jonah Bruce Bassett

Jonah Bruce was born on December 12th, 1811 in Essex,NY.  Jonah Bruce's father was Nymphas Bassett and his mother was Thankful Bruce.  His paternal grandparents were Rufus Bassett and Jedidah Handy. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Bernard Handy, Sylvester, Samuel, Jeremiah O., Nymphus, Oliver Clemens, Rufus, Olive and Hannah.  He was the second oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 80 on February 5th, 1892 in Shelby,IN.

‌Jonah Bruce and Druscilla were married in a religious ceremony on October 16th, 1834 in Shelby,IN.

They had two sons and a daughter, named James, John and Alice.
