Oliver Clemens Bassett

Oliver Clemens was born in August 1824 in Marion Township,Shelby,IN.  Oliver Clemens' father was Nymphas Bassett and his mother was Thankful Bruce.  His paternal grandparents were Rufus Bassett and Jedidah Handy. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Bernard Handy, Jonah Bruce, Sylvester, Samuel, Jeremiah O., Nymphus, Rufus, Olive and Hannah.  He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 81 in July 1906.

‌Oliver Clemens and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony on January 1st, 1848 in Shelby,IN.
