Wilma J. was born on April 10th, 1916 in Monroe County, Indiana. Wilma J.'s father was Nathan Homer Shields and her mother was Nellie East. Her paternal grandparents were David Thomas Shields and Sarah Frances Mize. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Onnie Glenn, Harold U., Marie E., Iola Gayle and Doris A.. She was the second youngest of the six children. She was buried in Clear Creek Cemetery, Clear Creek, Monroe Co., Indiana.-
