Doris A. was born on January 23rd, 1914 in Monroe County, Indiana. Doris A.'s father was Nathan Homer Shields and her mother was Nellie East. Her paternal grandparents were David Thomas Shields and Sarah Frances Mize. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Onnie Glenn, Harold U., Marie E., Iola Gayle and Wilma J.. She was the third youngest of the six children. She was buried in Clear Creek Cemetery, Clear Creek, Monroe Co., Indiana.-
