George Washington Shields 
George Washington was born in March 1866 in Indiana. George Washington's father was Joseph Lindsey Shields and his mother was Eliza Jane Whitsell. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Shields and Sarah "Sally" Masterson. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Charles H., Joseph Leonard, John G., James, David, Mary E. and Sarah Cynthia. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 64 on December 19th, 1930 in Monroe County, Indiana. He was buried in Knight Ridge Cemetery, Salt Creek Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana.-
