Elijah M Sibley 
Elijah M was born on February 6th, 1805 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.1 Elijah M's father was Elijah Sibley and his mother was Mary Clay. His paternal grandparents were Robert Sibley and Jerusha Chandler; his maternal grandparents were James Clay and Margaret Muse. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Coleman, Gabriel, John H, Alexander B, William Clay, James, Mary, Sarah, Nancy and Elizabeth. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 45 on March 7th, 1850 in Anson County, North Carolina.1 General Notes

Elijah was a well known planter and slave owner in NC. He also found the first all girls college in NC.
