Her paternal grandparents were Charles Clay and Sarah 2; her maternal grandparents were William Muse and Mary Pope. She had four brothers and six sisters, named William, James, Eleazer, Jeremiah 1, Sabrina, Lydia, Martha, Nancy, Elizabeth and Pattie.-
