Elizabeth was born in 1849 in Paradise Twp., Lancaster Co., PA. Elizabeth's father was George Lewis Eckert and her mother was Sarah Jane Slaymaker. Her maternal grandparents were John, Jr. Slaymaker and Jeannett McIlvaine. She had five brothers and three sisters, named George H., Howard, Nathaniel, Albert, Charles Whitfield, Mary Jane, Susan C. and Lavinia. She was the youngest of the nine children. She died at the age of 41 in 1890.General Notes
