Robert Steer

Robert was born on April 11th, 1814 in Petworth and his baptism took place there on May 29th, 1814.¹

Robert's father was William Steer and his mother was Elizabeth Howick.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Steer and Jane Osborn. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named William, Thomas, James, Henry, George, Edward, Charles, Elizabeth, Sarah and Jane.  He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 71 in 1885.²
