Jane Steer

Jane was born on May 3rd, 1810 in Petworth and her baptism took place there on June 10th, 1810.¹

Jane's father was William Steer and her mother was Elizabeth Howick.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Steer and Jane Osborn. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named William, Thomas, James, Henry, Robert, George, Edward, Charles, Elizabeth and Sarah.  She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 28 in 1838.  She was buried on August 12th, 1838 in Petworth.²
