Ellen was born in 1853 in Leeds.1  Ellen's father was Richard Rollisson (Rollinson) and her mother was Sophia Marshall Hemingway.  Her paternal grandparents were William Rollisson and Mary Pickersgill; her maternal grandparents were John Hemingway and Ellen Marshall. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Alfred, William, Fred., Ann and Sarah.  She was the second oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 71 on December 14th, 1924.  She was buried in Castleton.2 2
