There are three William Middletons:
In 1841, William (55 & Mary 55) was a Collier and he has a son William (14).  William the neighgbour (35 and Jane 30) was also a Collier.
In 1851, both families are still at Dirty Mile.  William the son has left home and married in 1848.
In 1861, both Williams had died. Mary and Jane are still neighbours at Dirty Mile, "Coal Miners Widows" Relative of: Possible daughter of William (if her remarried Elizabeth) Representative of: In 1807, Robert Lewis was witness for Thomas Millington's marriage to Ann Hayes Relative of: DNA match to CKD (9cM) and myself (15cM)
Ian Roberts is the assumed son of Joseph Millington and Annie Jones Relative of: Assumed Aunt, and sister of Ian's father 1860 - 1928 George Millington 67 67 1768 - 1810 Ann Millington 42 42 Son Samuel's first child was buried at Halkyn (near Bagillt).  As a Samuel and Ann of expected age are buried at Bagillt, then this is probably them.  Although Samuel and Ann are buried in the 1840s, there is no matching 1841 Census record for them.

1765 - 1845 Elizabeth Millington 80 80 29 Aug 1785, Elizabeth Millington married Benjamin Bennett, a fisherman, at Hawarden, Flintshire.  Another Elizabeth Millington married William Kirkman, a farmer, there 5 years earler.

In 1841, Elizabeth Bennett was 75 and independant, living at Golftyn

Elizabeth probably died at home, Golftyn, and the death was recorded at Holywell in July 1845, aged 84.  "Elizabeth, widow of Benjamin Bennett (Fisherman)" of Wepre Township was buried July 15th 1845, aged 83.

1855 Emma Millington 1817 - >1871 John Millington 54 54 In 1871, John, a Collier and Publican and Emma Millington (53 & 52) were living at Argoed (near Mold), Flintshire with Hannah (19), Emma (15), Maria (14), James (11) and Mary Ann (9).  The mothers of the children were Davies (for Hannah and Maria), Dunn and Jones (for James and MAry Ann), so most likely not all their children, but grandghildren or nephews and nieces. 1819 - 1888 Emma Dunn 68 68 1826 - 1887 William Millington 60 60 1828 - 1914 Maria Edwards 86 86 1783 - 1857 William Millington 74 74 The Marriage banns were read on Sundays the 11, 18 and 25 of December 1803 between William Milington a bachelor and collier and Mary Hewitt at Hawarden.

In 1841, William a collier and Mary both 55) are at Dirty Mile, Pentrobin.  They have three sons George, William and Charles (15, 14 & 12).

In 1851, William (68 is a Pauper, formerly a collier.  He has with him his wife Mary (66), also a pauper and son Charles (21). They are living at Little Mountain, next to Dirty Mile Road and neighbours of William & Jane Millington and family.

1753 to 1764 William and Mary of Pentrobin had 5 children baptised.  In 1753 (for William), the mother was not named.

In 1770, Jane was baptised, daughter of William and Elizabeth, so it appears Elizabeth and Mary are the same person.

Esther Latham 1837 - 1895 John Millington 58 58 In 1861, John (24), a Coal Miner was living in Dirty Mile Road with his widowed mother Jane (51) and brothers Joseph, Robert, William, George (19, 17, 15 & 13) and Mary (10).

In 1881, John and Hannah (45 & 40), werre at Dirty Mile Road, between Lane End and Dobshill (near Buckley), Hawarden, Flintshire.  John was a Coal Miner and Farmer of 6 acres.  They had Rosannah (19), Mary J (16), Albert (13), Alice L (11), William (8), Julia (6), Annie (4) and John P (10mo).

In 1841, William and Jane (35 and 30) are at Dirty Mile Rd with Charles (10), Elizabeth (8), Rosannah (6), John (4) and Thomas (2).

In 1851, William (44) is a Pauper, formerly a blacksmith.  He has with him his wife Jane (42) and 9 children.  They are a Little Mountain, next to Dirty Mile Road.  His neighbours (but no parents) were William and Mary Millington (68 & 66), also paupers.  (They has a son Willaim born 1826).

By 1861, wife Jane was head of house at Dirty Mile, and a Coal Miner's Widow, with three sons John, Joseph and Robert

26 Dec 1749, John Miilington married Margaret Youd at Shotton, Cheshire.

All their children were baptised at Hawarden.  John was born in 1750, about a month after they married (mother is not named on these early records).

In 1755 and 1757, Thomas and Mary were born and baptised at Hawarden, daughters of John and Margaret.  Then from 1760 to 1768, four daughters Margaret, Rachel, Elizabeth and Ann were all baptised with mother recorded as Margaret and also of abode Shotton.

John died and Margaret was widowed.  There is a 1778 burial at Chester Holy Trinity for John Millington (no age or abode given).  If living at Shotwich (Cheshire), then this would ne a local church (4.5 miles) on the West side of Chester.

6 Oct 1779 Margaret Millington (50, widow) of Hawarden  married Thomas Adams (59, widowed, husbandman) of Little Sanghall, Shotwick, Chester.
1728 - 1786 Margaret Youd 57 57 John and Margaret are common DNA ancestors and my 5x great-grandparents..

Margaret Youd (or Youde) was the daughter of John Youd and Mary Bennett.

26 Dec 1749, John Maiilington married Margaret Youd at Shotton, Cheshire.

All their children were baptised at Hawarden.  John was born in 1750, about a month after they married (mother is not named on these early records).

John died about 1775 and Margaret was widowed.

6 Oct 1779 Margaret Millington (50, widow) of Hawarden  married Thomas Adams (59, widowed, husbandman) of Little Sanghall at Shotwick, Chester.  Shotwick is just  across the River Dee from Shotton.

8 Jan 1786, Margaret Adams, wife of Thomas died and was buried at Shotwick.
1760 - 1794 Margaret Millington 33 33 Margaret married Joseph Jones.

In April 1794, Margaret, wife of Joseph Jones a fisherman of Shotton, died aged 34

Thomas Adams of Chester died in 1786 and left a Will.  However, the Will is dated 1 July 1778, before he remarried Margaret Millington (nee Youd) on 20 Oct 1779.

In 1861, Thomas Duckworth (55) was a labourer at Rake for Mary Millington, Head of Family (36) and William Millington (50). This is a different Millington family!

After they married, then had a daughter Elizabeth who died an infant.  Robert must have been quite distresses as he recorded his wife's name as Rebecca instead of Rachel !

In 1775, John Millington (of Shotton) and Mary were married at Hawarden.  Their first daughter Mary was born at Shotton but later lived at Ewlow Town. 

1778 the family moved from Shotton to Ewloe as in 1779 John and the later children were born at Ewloe
