- Ellen Mather, a spinster at Morris Green, Middle Hulton aged 23 (born 1865), the daughter of James Hanet Mather (Gentleman) married John Mather (a clogger) at Deane Parish Church on Oct 17 1888.

They had three sons and two daughters, named Volney, John, Frank, Lotie and Helen.
