      NOTE: There is another James Mather, baptised 24 Mar 1805 at Eccles son ot Thomas and Betty Mather. It is possibled this James is from Eccles as he is buried with a Thomas and Betty. However, there is no strong reason to assume that Thomas and Betty were his parents (e.b. many be an uncle and aunt), anr anything to link this James with Eccles (which is quite far from Breightmet).
  He died at the age of 46 on February 26th, 1850 in Tonge-with-Haulgh. His burial was at the St. Matthew (Little Lever).⁴⁴
