John Mather

John was born in 1835 in Breightmet and his baptism took place on July 3rd, 1836 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

John's father was James Mather and his mother was Martha Austin. His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Brabin. He had a brother and four sisters, named Thomas, Elizabeth, Ellen, Ann and Mary. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 35 in December 1870 in Royton.²

Death Notes
- Lydia a widow in 1871 but no Bolton Deaths for John Mather of a similar age. However, 1870 Royton death is a good match (although burial has wrong age).
  
  Not with family in 1851 but Betsy born 1874, so may have survived.
