John Wolfendale

John was born in 1851 in Manchester.¹   John's father was Thomas Wolfendale and his mother was Ann Allen.  His maternal grandparents were Thomas Allen and Jane. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Charles, Margaret, Amelia and Mary.  He was the third youngest of the six known children.
