Ann was born in March 1765 in Harwood and her baptism took place on March 31st, 1765 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1 2  Ann's father was Ellis Vickers and her mother was Mary Crook.  Her maternal grandparents were John Crook and Hannah (Ann) Twisse. She had four brothers and a sister, named Richard, Thomas, John, Peter and Alice.  She was the second oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 79 in 1844 in Bolton.3
