Alice's father was Ellis Vickers and her mother was Mary Crook.  Her maternal grandparents were John Crook and Hannah (Ann) Twisse. She had four brothers and a sister, named Richard, Thomas, John, Peter and Ann.  She was the second youngest of the six children.
