Caroline was born on November 14th, 1815 in Marsden and her baptism took place in November 1815 in Quarmby Cum Lindley.1  Caroline's father was Job Stocks and her mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Ainley.  Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Stocks and Sarah Cliffe. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Edward, Thomas, Ann, Charlotte and Betty.  She was the oldest of the six children. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named William, Eliza and Sarah.

‌Caroline and Thomas were married in a religious ceremony on July 21st, 1841 in Kirkheaton.2   They had a son named Charles.  There are possibly more children.
