Thomas Smith

Thomas was born in 1797 in Bradshaw and his baptism took place on April 11th, 1797 at Turton Chapel.¹

Thomas' father was Richard Smith and his mother was Susan Mather. His maternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Ann Howarth. He had two brothers named Thomas and Richard. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 71 in May 1868 in Bolton. His burial was in May 1868 in Tonge-with-Haulgh.²³

  In 1841, Thomas and Alice (40 & 35) were at Back Shaw Street, East Bolton with sons John (14) and Robert (9). Robert and Fanny Smith (both 50, possible brother) were also there.
  
  In 1851, Thomas and Alice Smith (54 and 55) were living in Commission Street, West Bolton with son Robert (19)
  
  In 1861, Thomas and Alice (63 & 65) were at 85 Back Mason Street, West Bolton, Thomas a Cotton Hand Loom Weaver.
