Mary's father was John Schofield and her mother was Ann (Sarah) Sandiford.  Her paternal grandparents were Noah Schofield and Mary Lees. She had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Charles, Joseph, James, Sarah and Maria.  She was the youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 65 on September 25th, 1926 in Saddleworth.¹
