Florence was born in March 1904 in West Derby.1  Florence's father was Joseph Oxton and her mother was Elizabeth Mary Hope.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Oxton and Mary Lewis. She had four brothers and a sister, named Joseph, George, Wallace, John and Lilian.  She was the youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 77 in 1981.

‌Florence and Henry were married in a religious ceremony in June 1923 in West Derby.2  They had four sons and four daughters, named Henry, Joseph, Bernard, John, Eliza, Florence, Margaret and Maureen.  There are no more children.
