Thomas' father was John Millington and his mother was Mary Connah.  His paternal grandparents were John Millington and Margaret Youd. He had five brothers and four sisters, named John, William, Edward, George, Charles, Rachel, Margaret, Mary and Elizabeth.  He was the third oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 41 in February 1823 in Ewloe.  He was buried on February 19th, 1823 in Hawarden.²
