Mary's father was John Millington and her mother was Mary Connah.  Her paternal grandparents were John Millington and Margaret Youd. She had six brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, William, Edward, George, Charles, Rachel, Margaret and Elizabeth.  She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.
