Mary was born in May 1788 in Ewloe and her baptism took place on May 11th, 1788 in Hawarden.1  Mary's father was John Millington and her mother was Mary Connah.  Her paternal grandparents were John Millington and Margaret Youde. She had six brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, William, Edward, George, Charles, Rachel, Margaret and Elizabeth.  She was the sixth oldest of the ten children.
