Robert's father was William Millington and his mother was Jane Williams.  His paternal grandparents were John Millington and Ann Shaw. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Charles, John, Joseph, William, George, Elizabeth, Rose, Thomas and Mary.  He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 81 on December 28th, 1924 in Pentrobin.  He was buried in December 1924 in Hawarden.²
