Martha was born in 1823 in Little Lever and her baptism took place on December 7th, 1823 at St. Peter (Rock Ferry).1  Martha's father was John Millington and her mother was Harriet Whitworth.  Her paternal grandparents were Edward Millington and Ann Davies. She had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Peter, Ann, Harriet, Mary and Elizabeth.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  She died after 1900 in Rhode Island (RI).2

‌Martha and Thomas were married in a religious ceremony on November 2nd, 1845 in Farnworth.3  They had five sons and two daughters, named Peter, Jacob, Amos, Moses, Albert, Amelia and Charlotte.  There are no more children.
