Joseph was born in September 1897 in Chester.1  Joseph's father was Joseph Millington and his mother was Elizabeth Ellis. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Clemence, Dennis, Dilys, Lena, Ethel, Florrie, Alice, Clara and Miriam.  He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  He died as an infant at 3 months old in December 1897 in Chester.1
