William John Mather

William was born on June 30th, 1809 in Manchester and his baptism took place on July 30th, 1809 at Manchester Cathedral.¹

William's father was Thomas Mather and his mother was Isabella Anderson. His paternal grandparents were Jeffery Mather and Mary Hampson. He had a brother and three sisters, named Jeffery, Mary, Frances and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 85 in 1894 in Victoria (Au).
