9 Mar 1901, William Henry Mather married Eliza Ellen Buckingham at Radcliffe St Andrew near Bury. Alfred was born soon after. Elia Ellen died in 1925.
7 Dec 1915, William Henry Mather (39) of 34 Reskton Lane, Bolton enlisted as a priovate in the Army's Lancashire Regiment for WW1. Regiment Number 31951. He was 5'4.5", with hair turning grey. His wife Eliza Ellen was named as NOK.
17 July 1819, William Henry was demobalised. After fighting in France, his home address was now Rosewood Street, Crumlin Road, Belfast.
In 1939, William H Mather, widower, an unemployed general labourer, was living at 8 Hilton Street, Kearsley with his two older spinster sisters.
