William Mather

William was born in 1757 in Winstanley and his baptism took place on June 23rd, 1757 at St. Aidan (Billinge).¹

William's father was John Mather and his mother was Elin (Ellen) Shaw.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Hannah Rawlinson. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Peter, John, Richard, Alice, Elizabeth and Peggy.  He was the oldest of the seven children.

‌William and Molly were married in a religious ceremony on September 10th, 1784 in Billinge.²
