Thomas was born in Bolton. Thomas' father was James Mather and his mother was Hannah Howarth. His paternal grandparents were John (Old Hatter) Mather and Martha Mather; his maternal grandparents were John Howarth and Hannah. He had a brother and a sister, named John and Mary. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named James, Henry, Mary, Martha and Alice. He died in July 1777 in Bolton. He was buried on July 12th, 1777 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1 Death Notes
