Mary Mather

Mary was born in 1748 in Heath Charnock and her baptism took place on February 14th, 1748 in Rivington.¹

  Some early Rivington Baptisms are listed on the Little Lever parish register. I suspect all Ralph Mather's children born at (Heath) Charnock were actulaay baptised at Rivington (and recorded at Little Lever).

Mary's father was Ralph Mather and her mother was Ann Anderton. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Margaret Kellett. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, James, Ralph, Ann, Betty and Elizabeth. She was the sixth oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 57 in April 1805 in Wigan. Her burial was on April 29th, 1805 in Wigan.²
