Margaret was born in 1880 in Darwen.¹

Birth Notes

Margaret's father was James Mather and her mother was Mary Jane Marsden. Her paternal grandparents were Andrew Mather and Elizabeth (Isabel) Holden. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Edward, Andrew, Simon, Elizabeth, Nancy and Daisy. She was the third oldest of the seven known children.
