Maggie's father was Joseph Mather and her mother was Elizabeth Kennerley. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Mather and Elizabeth (Betty) Hardman. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Henry, Enock, Lois, Anna and Elizabeth. She was the youngest of the six children. She died at the age of 5 on March 31st, 1878.
