Levinia was born in September 1863 in Whitefield.1  Levinia's father was William Mather and her mother was Mary Davenport.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Mary Whitehead. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Clement, James, Samuel, George, Richard, Mary, Emma, Elizabeth, Harriet and Hannah.  She was the nineth oldest of the eleven children.
