John Mather

John was born in 1794 in Westhoughton and his baptism took place on April 12th, 1794 at St. Bartholomew (Westhoughton).¹

John's father was Robert Mather and his mother was Jane (Jenny) Sale. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Mary Mather. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Lambert, Richard, Mary, Betty and Catherine. He was the sixth oldest of the seven children. He died in June 1794 in Westhoughton. His burial was on June 5th, 1794 at St. Mary (Deane).¹
