John Mather

John was born in December 1842 in Little Bolton.¹

John's father was Charles Mather and his mother was Mary Dawson. His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann (Nancy) Greenwood. He had four brothers and a sister, named James, Charles, William, John and Betsy. He was the fifth oldest of the six children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Thomas, John, Ann and Mary. He died at the age of 1 in July 1844 in Little Bolton. His burial was on August 2nd, 1844 in Bolton.²

- John from Charles's first marriage died in Q3/1842, and another son John (allready on the way) was immediately replaced (named after Charles's father). However, this John also died (aged almost 2), so in 1847, Charle's next and final son was also baptied John.
