Jane was born in September 1858 in Bolton.1  Jane's father was Lawrence Mather and her mother was Jane Ward. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, John, Agnes, Mary, Mary and Elizabeth.  She was the youngest of the seven children.  She died at 10 months old in July 1859 in Bolton.1
