Elizabeth was born in September 1856 in Bolton.1  Elizabeth's father was Lawrence Mather and her mother was Jane Ward. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, John, Agnes, Mary, Mary and Jane.  She was the second youngest of the seven children.  She died in September 1856 in Bolton.1
