James Arthur Mather

James was born in 1885 in Rhodes (nr. Middleton).¹

James' father was Joseph Mather and his mother was Amelia Hannah Verity. His paternal grandparents were Peter Mather and Martha Dawson. He had three brothers and two sisters, named George, Walter, Harold, Florence and Nellie. He was the second oldest of the six children.
