James Mather

James was born on May 24th, 1894 in Little Bolton and his baptism took place on July 6th, 1894 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹²

James' father was Sgt John Mather and his mother was Martha Alice Brierly. His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Jane Welsby. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, Peter, William, Rosetta, Ellen, Elizabeth and Eliza. He had an adopted sister named Mary. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Edward and Margaret. He died at 4 months old in September 1894 in Bolton.³
