James Mather

James was born on December 27th, 1845 in Radcliffe and his baptism took place on March 29th, 1846 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).¹²

  There is a BMD record for MMN = BARLOW, not BROWNLOW, but this may be the son of Thomas Mather and Helen Barlow who married in Dec 1846, (although Helen was a widow then).

James' father was James Mather and his mother was Alice Brownlow. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Mather and Betty Lord. He had a brother named Samuel. He was the younger of the two children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named James, Samuel and Sarah. He died at the age of 45 in March 1891 in Radcliffe. His burial was on March 10th, 1891 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).

  James died March 1891. In the April 1891 census Elizabeth was a widow.
