James Mather

James was born on August 1st, 1811 in Bury and his baptism took place on August 25th, 1811 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury).¹

James' father was James Mather and his mother was Mary Evans. His paternal grandparents were Robert Madther and Betty (Elizabeth) Ripson. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Richard, Samuel, Sarah and Mary. He was the fifth oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 55 in June 1867 in Heywood. His burial was on June 17th, 1867 at St. Paul (Bury).²²
