Isabella was born on October 2nd, 1833 in Radcliffe and her baptism took place on January 12th, 1834 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).1 2  Isabella's father was Miles Mather and her mother was Mary Hugganson.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Mary Melling. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Benjamin, John, Mary and Mary.

‌Isabella and James were married in a religious ceremony on December 27th, 1858 at St. Mary (Radcliffe) witnessed by William Walker & Richard Fielding.3  The family line is yet to be completed.
