Henry was born on July 21st, 1806 in Liverpool and his baptism took place on September 7th, 1806 at St. Peter (Liverpool).1 2  Henry's father was Thomas Mather and his mother was Hannah Penketh. He had a brother and five sisters, named John, Ann, Hannah, Esther, Jane and Elizabeth.  He was the oldest of the seven known children.  He died at the age of 80 on September 29th, 1886 in Worcestershire.3
