George Henry Mather

George was born in 1847 in Pendleton and his baptism took place on September 8th, 1847 in Manchester.¹

George's father was Robert (Thomas) Mather and his mother was Mary Ann Walmsley.  His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Worsley. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, Robert, James, Edwin, Julia, Maria and Harriet.  He was the second youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 2 in June 1849 in Salford.²
