General Notes
In 1861, Ellen was 5 and with her parents.
In 1871, Ellen had left home and was a lodger, a factory operative with George and Ann Obersby at Strawberry Hill, Bolton.
1 Sep 1777, Ellen, aged 21 and spinster of 47 Ramwell Street, daughter of Simon Mather a weaver, married Henry Smith, aged 23, a coal miner at Bolton St Peter. Frederick Mather and Maria Coulthard were their witnes.
Ellen and Henry had two children James and Ada who were with Henry and Mary Smith in 1891, so Ellen may have died and Henry remarried.

Ellen and Henry were married in a religious ceremony on September 1st, 1877 at St. Peter's (Bolton).3 The family line is yet to be completed.
